…why does your body wash burn?
Sounds like we’re in complete agreement.
What really gets me is when someone crosses the line from “enough to hold it together” all the way through “cohesive item you can take bites from” then dives headlong into “everything sloughs off as the cheese stays connected and drags every other topping with it”, then acts like nothing is wrong and it’s a good thing.
I might be an outlier here, but I absolutely think there is such a thing as too much cheese. My partner and I have regular disagreements about how much should be put on a pizza when we’re making one at home.
We wouldn’t recognize the aliens symbols for 0-9 at first either.
What compression settings are you using for each? If you’re just accepting defaults it’s quite possible you’re comparing against a lossless webp, which is quite likely to be larger than jpeg at typical quality settings.
The way the quizzical “huh” is sometimes pronounced is close perhaps? I don’t know if I’d call that an English word though.
I’m in my 40s and have multiple long-standing circles of friends going back decades (each with their own group chat). I even made new friends recently through channels other than my existing friends (started going to local fighting game community events).
I definitely feel bad for the people who talk about having very few or even no close friends and seem to frame it as some kind of inevitability that comes with adulthood. Life without my friends would absolutely be a lot worse.
I feel this. Working from home now but even when in the office spent a staggering amount of time just… doing nothing. Spent multiple days in the office just watching old episodes of The Computer Chronicles on youtube.
Recently praised as one of the most productive/useful members of my team and also thanked for taking so much of my time to help other teams.
Not a furry though.
It’s also possible that audio recording being a thing that exists will slow changes in language as well.
My mistake then, it’s more vulnerable then I initially thought. I also don’t think it’s secure even if that weren’t true, just that it’s not worse than single factor passwords (which you also shouldn’t use of security is a concern).
If the fact that a 128-bit value when sent to your server can retrieve a single piece of media or user info then I have real bad news about what you can do with a typically much shorter password.
Is it ideal that you can retrieve streams or user info from Jellyfin if you know the ID of the entity you’re looking for? No, obviously not. But you need to authenticate to get those IDs in the first place, and there are fewer bits of entropy in most people’s passwords than there are in UUIDs.
Being able to get streams unauthenticated by guessing the correct UUID is arguably still better security than using passwords without 2FA.
My biggest problem with that “monstrosity” is that it’s ortholinear.
You imply that such a thing being “optimal” is absurd, but if you had infinite usable desk space then what, exactly, would be the argument against it? If space is not a consideration then what does it matter if you don’t use every key?
Lots of people like smaller keyboards, and that’s perfectly fine. I get it as an aesthetic choice, and for many people it may not impact their daily use at all. But you will not convince me that removing the option of having additional keys for binding is a non-zero cost, even if they’re not currently being used.
For what it’s worth, I never used anything like that monstrosity, but I was quite happy with my G15 for the time that I had it which had 18 additional keys, plus media control, over a typical full size.
Full-size is objectively superior, everything else is a mitigation for sub-optimal circumstances.
If you have reduced desk space and need to conserve your keyboard size to allow more room for a mouse then absolutely, pick as small a keyboard as you’re comfortable with to get sufficient mousing space.
Anything beyond that is subjective personal preference, which again I have no qualms with, but calling it better without further qualification is going to invite incredulity.

I maintain a small piece of Windows software and originally just provided an installer, but I received enough requests for it that now when I publish releases I provide both an installer and a zipped portable build.
I’d argue that Li should be red and Hg should be yellow.
Elemental mercury in liquid form is fairly safe. It needs to get into your blood in order to be a problem, and even if some does stick to your tongue and get swallowed the digestive absorption is extremely low.
I think you mean “demographic”
The Nvidia Shield TV, which is amply powerful for most media purposes, has only 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, though is expandable via microSD.
The “Pro” version bumps that to a whopping 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage… with no microSD card slot.
It’s a basic AC rectifier, the resistor represents an arbitrary DC load. You use similar circuits all the time, though generally with additional failsafes and some mechanism of smoothing out the rectified current.
